City at Night – Test Shoot

This test shoot was loosely based around the theme of city lights, drawing influence from 2011’s cult hit Drive. The theme is something I have always wanted to do, and the chance to work with Ross Davidson, a model represented by Leeds based Catwalk Model Agency was the perfect opportunity.

Having lived in Leeds city centre for two years, I already had a few locations in mind. I wanted to have a contrast between the fluorescent lights, dimly lit alleyways and tunnels to portray how different a city at night can be. Joining me on the test shoot was creative makeup artist Anna Stephenson, who helped provide the look we were going for. The shoot was a great success – hours felt like minutes! We managed to achieve a variety of urban looks at a number of locations, using graffiti as an interesting backdrop, the steps at Leeds Town Hall and the bright, florescent lights at Leeds Trinity.
