Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands
I have been soooooo excited to post this blog ever since Katie and Ryan’s wedding a couple of weeks ago. Mr and Mrs Coleman were married at The Woodlands (part of Hothorpe Hall) in Leicestershire – a magical stretch of forest complete with an incredible tree house with luscious views of the fields, wooden logs as stools, twinkly fairy lights, lanterns and a bug hotel.. this wedding truly was where the wild things are! There were so many amazing details and epic moments throughout the day, meaning it was a serious task narrowing the photo’s down for this blog.. Katie and Ryan were a joy to be around. The couple met at school in Corby, Northamptonshire and were joined by all their wonderful family and friends they’ve met along the way on their wedding day. It is so inspiring to see a couple incorporate so many personal details in their wedding, Katie got all creative and hands on, designing most of the details herself and hand making the favours. Did I mention the wedding cake with an entire layer of Krispy Kreme donuts?!
Katie looked absolutely beautiful in her ivory lace gown, with a pale green ribbon tied around her waist. The wild flowers entwined through her hair completed the woodland look, and the personalised sneakers with green laces were spot on. After an amazing ceremony complete with a string quartet and personal readings we were able to whisk the couple away for their bridal portraits and take advantage of their stunning venue.
It was all too easy (and fun) to get lost in the woods as we ventured out to find some spots to take photo’s – one of my absolute favourites being where the newlyweds are stood together with the trees surrounding them, almost like an arc shape, the sun light glistening through the leaves. The speeches were next, with the best man getting THE BEST personalised gifts for the bride and groom – a handwritten card from David Attenborough and Bear Grylls no less. We left the wedding party dancing the night away to some amazing tunes, and I heard even the groom Ryan got up to serenade his beautiful new bride Katie with a rendition of wonderwall towards the end of the night! Enjoy!
