Hornington Manor – York Wedding Photography
This wedding was AMAZING! It featured two adorable flower girls, a stunning barn reception, a baby lamb and soooooo many mini eggs. Sophie and Steven were married over the Easter weekend earlier this year, having their ceremony at Menston Parish Church in Ilkley. Harriet and Isabelle (the two super cute flower girls) waited at the foot of the church to meet Sophie and her Dad and bridesmaids. Sophie looked effortlessly beautiful. She wore an ivory lace ball gown wedding dress, with sleeves and a gorgeous bow that tied at the back.
After the ceremony we grabbed a few snaps outside the church, with the wind picking up and providing a few comedy moments! Then it was off to the reception venue at Hornington Manor Farm in Bolton Percy for afternoon tea and group shots. This venue is truly special, set out in the middle of the countryside, the views are just amazing and now with a rustic barn conversion to hold wedding receptions – it’s perfect! We were lucky enough to meet one of the baby lambs who had been born a few days before, and Sophie and Steven even got to hold him! So cute.
The barn was decorated with so many pretty lights which really added to the look of the whole room. Trees with sparkling fairy lights lined the walls, with soft bunting and candles decorating the tables. And there was a mini egg pick n mix sweetie collection! The speeches were both emotional and hilariously entertaining – with the three best men stepping up and introducing the strangest ‘I have never’ game at a wedding I have ever witnessed! Sophie and Steven then took to the dance floor in style for their first dance, and we left them and the guests dancing the night away. A beautiful day and one we were truly happy to be part of!
